You bought a beautiful house with a system nobody will support. The original dealer doesn't return calls, half of it doesn't work, and nobody left you a password. We take those systems over — and most of the time we can fix them rather than replace them.
This is one of the most common calls we get, and it's almost always the same story. A house changes hands. The automation system stays. The dealer who installed it either isn't in business, isn't interested in a service call, or wants to sell a complete replacement before they'll touch it. Meanwhile the keypads are labeled for someone else's life, the cameras aren't recording, and the theater turns on in the wrong order.
It's rarely as bad as it looks. Control4, Savant, Crestron, Lutron, and Elan systems are generally sound hardware, and the problem is usually ownership, programming, and credentials rather than failed equipment. We start by finding out what's actually there — a full audit of the rack, the network, the processor, and what still has a valid license.
Then we tell you the truth about it. Sometimes the answer is a few hours of reprogramming and a network fix. Sometimes a processor is genuinely end-of-life and no longer supported by the manufacturer, and continuing to patch it is throwing money away. We'll show you both paths with real numbers instead of defaulting to a rip-and-replace quote.
Once it's working, we document it properly — passwords, device list, rack photos, network map — so you own your system rather than renting it from whoever last touched it. That documentation is yours whether you stay with us or not.

Consultation
We walk the property with you, listen to how you actually live in it, and look at what's already there. No pitch — we're establishing scope, constraints, and what's realistic.

Design & proposal
You get a designed system with a written proposal: what goes where, what it does, what it costs. Theaters include a 3D model so you see the finished room before anything is built.

Installation
We coordinate with your builder, electrician, and designer, and we work clean. Cable is run properly, racks are built to be serviced, and the site is left tidy every day.

Programming & calibration
Scenes are built around your routine and tuned on site, after dark where it matters. Video is calibrated, audio is measured. This is the step that separates a system from a pile of equipment.

Training & support
We sit down with the household and make sure everyone can drive it — not just whoever ordered it. Then we stay reachable, with remote monitoring on supported systems.

We just moved in and nothing works. Where do you start?
With an audit, not a quote. We walk the house, open the rack, photograph what's there, check what the processor is and whether it's still supported, and test the network. You get a written summary of what you actually own and what it would take to make it work. That report is useful to you even if you hire someone else.
The original dealer won't release the system. Can you still help?
In most cases, yes. Control platforms have documented processes for transferring ownership to a new dealer, and where accounts can't be recovered we can often reset the system and re-provision it. There are a small number of situations where a manufacturer requires the original dealer's cooperation, and we'll tell you straight away if yours is one of them.
Will you tell me to replace everything?
Only if it's true, and we'll show you why. Plenty of the systems we take over are five to ten years old and perfectly serviceable — they need programming, a network fix, and someone who answers the phone. When hardware genuinely is end-of-life and unsupported by the manufacturer, we'll say so and price both options.
What does a system takeover cost?
The initial audit is a fixed, quoted visit rather than an open-ended hourly meter, so you know what you're spending before we start. Most repairs land in the low thousands. Full replacement is a different conversation, and we only have it after the audit tells us it's warranted.
Which systems do you work on?
Control4, Savant, Crestron, Lutron, Elan, URC, and Sonos, plus the common camera, network, and alarm platforms that sit alongside them. If you tell us what's on the rack or send a photo of it, we can usually tell you what you're dealing with before we come out.
Do I have to sign a service contract?
No. We'll fix the system either way. We do offer support plans afterwards because remote monitoring genuinely prevents most repeat problems, but taking one is your call and it isn't a condition of the repair.
