Whole-home control

Smart Home Automation in Orange County

One system that runs your lighting, climate, audio, shades, cameras, and entertainment — controlled from a wall keypad, your phone, or your voice, anywhere in the world.

Most "smart" homes are a drawer full of apps that never talk to each other. One app for the thermostat, another for the cameras, a third for the speakers, and a hub that drops offline every few weeks. It's more friction than the switches it replaced.

Real home automation is a single, professionally engineered system. Your lighting, heating and air conditioning, motorized shades, irrigation, security, and audio all live on one platform, on a hardwired backbone, with one interface. Press "Good Night" and the house locks the doors, drops the lights, sets the temperature, closes the shades, and arms the cameras.

We design that system around how your household actually lives, install it cleanly, program it properly, and train you on it — then we stay available when you want to change how it behaves.

Why it's worth doing right

What a properly engineered system gets you

One interface, not eleven

Everything on a single app and matching in-wall keypads. Guests can figure it out without a tutorial, and so can a house sitter.

Built on a wired backbone

Critical devices are hardwired wherever the structure allows. Wireless is used where it belongs, not as a substitute for engineering.

Scenes that match your day

Morning, Away, Movie, Entertaining, Good Night. One press moves lights, shades, climate, audio, and security together.

Remote access that's actually secure

Control and monitor the house from anywhere, on a network segmented and hardened so your automation isn't sitting on the same VLAN as guest WiFi.

Designed to expand

Start with lighting and audio, add theater, shades, or cameras in year three without tearing out what you already paid for.

Support after the install

Systems get remote monitoring and firmware maintenance. Most issues get resolved before you notice them.

How we work

From first walkthrough to a system you actually use

High-ticket work goes wrong when nobody explains what happens next. Here is exactly how a project runs, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We walk the property with you, listen to how you actually live in it, and look at what's already there. No pitch — we're establishing scope, constraints, and what's realistic.

  2. 02

    Design & proposal

You get a designed system with a written proposal: what goes where, what it does, what it costs. Theaters include a 3D model so you see the finished room before anything is built.

  3. 03

    Installation

We coordinate with your builder, electrician, and designer, and we work clean. Cable is run properly, racks are built to be serviced, and the site is left tidy every day.

  4. 04

    Programming & calibration

Scenes are built around your routine and tuned on site, after dark where it matters. Video is calibrated, audio is measured. This is the step that separates a system from a pile of equipment.

  5. 05

    Training & support

We sit down with the household and make sure everyone can drive it — not just whoever ordered it. Then we stay reachable, with remote monitoring on supported systems.

Questions

Smart Home Automation, answered

Straight answers to what people actually ask before starting a project like this.

Can you automate a house that's already built?

Yes — the large majority of our work is retrofit. Wireless lighting, RF shades, and mesh-free wired access points let us do a great deal without opening finished walls. We walk the house first and tell you honestly where we can fish wire cleanly and where we'd recommend a wireless approach instead.

How long does an automation project take?

A focused project — lighting control plus a couple of rooms of audio — is typically a few days on site. A full new-construction integration runs alongside the build, starting at rough-in and finishing at trim-out, so the timeline follows your general contractor's schedule.

What happens if my internet goes down?

A properly designed system keeps working. Lighting, climate, shades, and keypads run locally on the processor. You lose remote access from outside the home until service returns, but nothing inside the house stops functioning.

Do I have to replace what I already own?

Usually not. Good televisions, speakers, thermostats, and cameras can often be brought into the new system. We audit what's there before quoting anything, and we'll tell you when keeping a device costs more in integration work than replacing it.

Can I control the system by voice?

Yes. Voice control integrates alongside keypads and the app rather than replacing them — you want a physical button that works when the network is down or a guest's phone isn't on the WiFi.

What clients say

“I had the pleasure of working with Ashkan on multiple AV installations in the past 10+ years. His team performed a complete update of the media room which includes a multi-screen projection home theater, music server, whole house audio, dedicated 2Ch HiFi system, as well as Crestron automation for AV, lighting & shades. The most recent project is a second HT AV system for the family room/kitchen remodel. It's a complex installation & we're very happy with the job. Ashkan is always professional, responsive & reliable with excellent after sales/installation supports. Highly recommended.”
